Yamato-ya

I recently discovered a amazing store: Yamato-ya, famous for its Japanese ingredients like mirin, sushi rice, sushi and sashimi grade fish etc) in Delhi. Infact, It was 20% cheaper than other leading stores in delhi ie. cheaper than Nature's Basket and INA market.

Their branch in Delhi is at
B-6/9 Local Commercial Complex
Safdarjung Enclave
New Delhi 110029
Tel: 41650164 / 65

They have a branch in Gurgaon too. Here's the address:
Yamato-ya
SCO 19, HUDA Market
Sector 56
Gurgaon 122 011
Tel 0124- 4238377

I went to Delhi branch it was quite fascinating and pretty easy to navigate, still takes some time and patience. The Items were labelled in English, staff were helpful in showing the placements of the stuff, they can speak English, Hindi and Japenese. If you are buying something imported from Japan make sure it has another description written in English.

NFC Market : cyliner blast

Me and my friends were at Yum Yum Tree Restaurant in NFC, we were having a great time until we heard a loud sound of blast, the time was around 11pm, the moment got intense, glass window of the restaurant broke into pieces. People were screaming and it came from the ground level. We paid the bill asap and went to see the happening. It was a cylinder at Al-bake (Shawrama) which blew badly injuring at least 4. As usual cops came and blame the shop keeper for opening  till so late.A lot of crowd had assembled in front of Al Bake, but we avoided that exit and took another one to get to our car and drive back to the guest house. Its been ages since I've jumped at a loud noise, but yes, the news these days makes you extra fearful.

Where In Delhi : Kailash Colony Market

I discovered that The Big Chill had moved the Kailash Colony main market, and was replaced by Mystic Bali. I wanted to try Mystic Bali but there was waiting and that would have been another test of hunger. So, we made a move to The Big Chill and Kailash Colony market. I have tried both the Big Chill joints at Khan Market, but this was my first visit to the Kailash Colony outlet. I must say that it is better than its siblings at Khan Market. It is more spacious and accommodates more guests, but the service is perhaps not as prompt. Let me not be very judgmental about the service because it was full and I could make out that it was difficult to handle too many customers. With the Khan Market outlets, the good thing is that the staff is never too far from you, and you can call them easily. At Kailash Colony, I had to look for the staff. They made two fundamental errors. First, they did not serve water when we walked in, and secondly they served the wrong stuff!
About the food, it was good as usual. In no mood to experiment, I ordered Fusilli Chicken Piri Piri (Pasta) and Chickenara (Pizza with rich cheese, chicken and salami topping). Needless to say, it was more than enuf for the two of us. The food was served withing 10 minutes and we were so hungry that we ate like we had to catch a train. We wrapped up the thing in 20-odd minutes flat and left for the second meeting.
If you have not been to The Big Chill – Kailash Colony, I recommend you go there at least once. My only concern is that you may have to wait for a while. I didn’t have to but It was appx 4:15 PM when I was there and the restaurant was almost full. You can try your luck. It is worth it!
